Frequently asked questions

What data does the Quiver API provide?

Alternative data on US public companies, mapped to stock tickers: congressional trades, insider trades (SEC Form 4), hedge fund 13F holdings, corporate lobbying, government contracts, PAC donations, off-exchange (dark pool) trading, patents, layoff notices, daily stock prices and more.

How much does the Quiver API cost?

The Hobbyist plan is $30 per month and the Trader plan, which adds insider trading, 13F holdings and other SEC data, is $75 per month. Both cost less billed yearly and are for personal use. The Startup plan ($250 per month, for companies with under $1M in annual revenue) and Enterprise plans allow commercial use. See pricing.

Can ChatGPT, Claude or other AI assistants use Quiver data?

Yes. The Quiver MCP server at https://mcp.quiverquant.com/ connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients to Quiver data, so you can ask questions in plain language. See how to connect it.

How far back does the data go?

It depends on the dataset: congressional trades from 2014, corporate lobbying from 1999, daily stock prices from 2014, patents from 2010 and insider trades from 2021. Each dataset page lists its history and how often it's updated.

How do I get started?

Choose a plan on the pricing page, copy your API key from your dashboard, and send it in the Authorization header. The quickstart walks through a first request in cURL, Python and JavaScript.
